bathroom inspiration

In the next six months we've got to renovate our bathroom. We want a modern, clean, simple feel with an element of salvageyness, but without the country cottage, or Victorian feel... hmm yes tricky. I just found this photo. Any ideas appreciated! ...

A trip to Legoland

Wow, we went to Legoland, Windsor on Saturday, along with most of the rest of South East England. Apart from the model village-like section 'miniland' with London, parts of UK, France, Spain, Holland, and lots of Europe, which was AMAZING, one of my fav bits was this relief made from lego of a pharoh. (Bear in mind we had been queuing for about an hour for a shoot-em ride at this point, so I was rather bored!)

Tomatoes

We bought a box of tomatoes for £4 from a Turkish shop in South London. They're actually from Holland, probably green-house ones, not very eco. But they smell delicious. OH gonna make ketchup and I'd like to make chutney... yum. (My cherry tomato plants are still in the garden, but are only about 3cm tall... I'm trying to be patient)

Rain

Yes!!! It's raining. No filling up watering cans and the waterbutts
get a chance to recover too. Think a few gentle showers are slightly
kinder on the poor little seedlings than the torrent they have to put
up with from my watering can.

Apple juice lollies... Yum

Just gave the kiddies apple juice lollies that we had made this
morning. Stops the moaning for a while longer!

Fairy skirt

It's a friend's little girls birthday this weekend. Have jumped at the chance to make a fairy skirt. Found a brilliant pattern on another blog - thank you! I knotted all the netting onto a piece of ribbon, so there was NO sewing. It took about two or three hours, and was brilliant fun. Tied on some bits of ribbon with poms poms attached that came from a funny hairbobble thing. And did sew a few sparkly poms poms on too. If only little boys liked dressing up as fairies... Er, those are my feet too. Yes, I wore it to take a picture. My youngest thought that was hilarious.

Fourth painting for the yoga centre

I loved making this. It was about four weeks ago. It started with sticking on newspaper, a ripped up old skirt, some fake flowers that had fallen apart, and some bits of an old birthday card. Then came washes of colour over the whole canvas with acrylic and emulsion. Next patches of grey emulsion, more sticking on of snowflakes, crystals, and finally some finer acrlic detail, sewing, glitter (eek) and hey presto... my favourite painting to date. It's now in Yoga Bodhi, Bartlett St, Bath and forrr saleeee!

Mowing the lawn

Top tip: Don't mow the lawn with bare feet. I just did and my feet will be green for about five days.

why make a blog?

Because there's so many exciting things out there to do, and it's good to share it around...?!?!?
